I really don't believe that they had anything to do with the murder, but I do believe they got caught up in the lies and deceit and could not fathom the realty that their own daughter could have murdered Caylee. I do think they suspected Casey, but as long as the body wasn't found they were able to hold on to that one little string of hope.
